A forest fire is raging in Turkey near the resort of Marmaris

In Turkey, a forest fire is raging in the vicinity of the popular resort of Marmaris. The authorities are afraid of a repeat of last year's situation with wildfires, which affected the provinces of Mugla and Antalya.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Turkey, about 1,600 people are currently fighting the fire, 363 special vehicles, 39 units of construction equipment, 20 helicopters and 14 aircraft are involved. It is expected that the fire will be extinguished by the evening, despite the fact that the work of firefighters is complicated by gusty winds.

The authorities claim that the fire does not threaten settlements, but for the safety of residents, more than 30 houses were evacuated.
