A large statue of Christ will be installed on Mount Atis in Armenia

A monumental complex with a statue of Christ is planned to be built on the top of Mount Atis in Armenia. This was stated in the Gagik Tsarukyan Charitable Foundation.

Earlier, a major entrepreneur, the head of the Prosperous Armenia party Gagik Tsarukyan said that he plans to build a statue of Christ in the country, to which the Armenian authorities reacted positively: this could increase the interest of tourists.

The statue will have a height of 77.7 m, a staircase of 1700 steps will lead to it, which symbolizes the 1700th anniversary of the baptism of Armenia. There will also be a cable car, cafes, restaurants, cottages, hotels and a museum.

Construction work will begin in the very near future, it is expected that the complex will be ready in three years.
