A new airport has opened in Cambodia near the Angkor Wat complex

A new Siem Reap Angkor International Airport has opened in Cambodia. It is located in Siem Reap Province, 40 km from the ancient temple complex of Angkor Wat.

Airport was built with the help of China. The first international flight arrived there from Bangkok yesterday, October 17. The Bangkok Airways plane was met with the participation of Cambodian officials.

The length of the airport runway is 3,600 m. The air harbor is equipped with all the necessary equipment for receiving and sending flights from all over the world. From 2024, it will be able to serve up to 7 million passengers a year, and from 2040 — up to 12 million people.
