A new terminal with vineyards on the roof will be built at Florence Airport. The project was developed by the American architectural company Rafael Viñoly Architects.
The vineyards on the roof, according to the authors of the project, will contribute to improving the airport's rating and will symbolize "the rich traditions and innovative spirit of Italy."
It is planned to make wine from the grown grapes and keep it right there, in special cellars.
It is claimed that the new Florence Airport terminal will have an area of 50,000 square meters, it will be able to serve 5.9 million passengers per year. The construction will take place in two stages: the first is scheduled to be completed in 2026, the second in 2035.
