A powerful earthquake occurred in Argentina — its magnitude was 6.4.
According to the National Seismological Service, an earthquake was recorded yesterday in the north of the country, 163 km northwest of San Salvador (Jujuy province).
The center of the seismic event lay at a depth of 227 km .
Casualties and the extent of the destruction have not yet been reported.
