A record increase in the incidence of COVID-19 was noted in Hainan
China has recorded a record daily increase in coronavirus infection over the past three months. More than half of the cases occur on Hainan Island.
So, according to data on the morning of August 10, a total of 1,900 cases were detected in the country, of which 1,200 cases were in the city of Sanya on Hainan Island. Since August 6, a lockdown has been introduced in Sanya. At least 80,000 tourists from other regions of China are stuck on the island. Local residents are not allowed to leave Hainan unless absolutely necessary. Sanya Airport has suspended operations since August 7. The sale of train tickets has also been suspended.
At the moment, almost all of Hainan is quarantined. Residents of Sanya claim problems with nutrition due to malfunctions in the food delivery system.
Earlier in China, restrictions and lockdowns were introduced in the counties of both Wu and Aksu to combat COVID-19 outbreaks.
