A state of emergency has been declared in the Seychelles
A state of emergency has been declared in the Seychelles today due to the explosion on Mahe Island.
The explosion occurred at a warehouse in the industrial zone of the capital of Victoria, resulting in huge damage to the surrounding neighborhoods.
Damage was also recorded at the international airport, located 4 km from the explosion site, although the airport continues to operate, as well as ferry lines between the islands.
Authorities are asking residents of the island to stay at home. All schools will be closed. Exceptions are made only for life support workers and tourists.
