A strong earthquake has occurred in Iran

An earthquake of magnitude 5.7 occurred in Iran today.

Tremors were recorded in the north-west of Iran. The epicenter was located near the city of Khoy in the Ostan (province) of West Azerbaijan.

The US Geological Survey clarifies that the earthquake occurred about 11.6 km from Khoy, the hearth lay at a depth of 10 km.

According to the news agency, at least 276 people were injured. Nothing has been reported about the deaths and the extent of the destruction.
