American tourist raped in the center of Paris

A 27-year-old American tourist was raped in the center of Paris.

The incident occurred in a public toilet near the Louis Philippe Bridge on the right bank of the Seine, in a busy and popular place with tourists. Notre Dame Cathedral and the city hall are nearby.

The tourist went to the toilet at about one o'clock in the morning, her companion remained waiting outside. Hearing the screams of his girlfriend, he went inside and found the rapist. Together with the guards, the man managed to detain him.

The perpetrator turned out to be a 23-year-old Algerian living in the suburbs of Paris.
