An earthquake has occurred on the island of Bali

On August 22, an earthquake of magnitude 5.8 occurred on the popular tourist island of Bali in Indonesia.

According to the National Directorate of Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics of Indonesia, the seismic event occurred at 15:36 local time. Its epicenter was located 74 km south-east of Kuta, the hearth lay at a depth of 124 km. Tremors were also felt on the neighboring island of Lombok.

As a result of the earthquake, several residential buildings and hotels were slightly damaged — cracks formed on the walls in them, plaster crumbled.

Fortunately, there were no casualties among residents and tourists.
