Antalya Airport Terminal 2 will open in April
Terminal 2 of Antalya International Airport (Turkey) will be opened after reconstruction on April 11. As a result, the airport's capacity will increase 2.3 times, from 35 to 82 million passengers per year.
As a result of the modernization, the area of the international terminal was also increased from 93,000 to 223,000 square meters; the area of the domestic terminal — from 37,000 to 75,000 square meters; the number of aircraft parking — from 108 to 176 seats; the number of teletraps — from 20 to 38.
New taxiways were also equipped, the existing VIP terminal and CIP terminal were repaired (will open on April 1), a building with an area of 6,000 square meters was built for accommodation of staff, officials, high-ranking guests and delegations related to state visits.
The airport modernization project includes the beautification of the surrounding area, the construction of parking and other facilities.
Investments in the project by the Fraport-TAV management company amounted to 850 million euros.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is expected to take part in the official opening ceremony of the renovated airport, scheduled for April 11.
