Athens is recognized as the best place for a budget holiday in Europe

Experts of Post Office Travel Money conducted a study and named the best places for a budget holiday in Europe.

Thus, the Greek capital Athens leads the TOP 20 cities, it surpasses the more traditional budget ones in Eastern Europe due to a sharp drop in prices by 15% since 2021.

For example, hotel accommodation for two nights, meals, tickets for rides and public transport will cost tourists 207 pounds for two.

In second place on the list is Lisbon (Portugal), where the average bill will be 218 pounds. On the third — the Polish Krakow (219 pounds). Riga (220) and Budapest (221) complete the top five.

As the head of Post Office Travel Money, Nick Boden, clarified, a trip to Athens and Lisbon will cost twice as much as a trip to Paris, Amsterdam and Venice. In addition, they "offer a sunny autumn climate."
