Avalanche descended in the French Alps, six dead
On April 9, an avalanche descended on the Armansett glacier in the French Alps. As a result, at least six people were killed and several injured.
Earlier it was reported that the body of a 39-year-old alpine skier was found by rescuers on Sunday evening, another victim was found this morning.
According to Francois Barbier, mayor of the commune of Contamin-Montjoie, weather conditions in the glacier area were favorable over the weekend, the national meteorological service Météo-France did not predict avalanches.
The ongoing search operation involves many rescuers and two helicopters, as well as a large number of special equipment.
