Bali banned the rental of mopeds for foreigners

Bali Governor Wayan Koster has banned foreign tourists from renting mopeds and motorcycles due to frequent traffic violations, the Antara News newspaper reports.

"Travelers to Bali will have to use only vehicles from travel companies. Rental of motor vehicles is now banned. The introduction of new rules in tourism in Bali is designed to improve the image of the province's tourism industry and guarantee safety," the newspaper writes.

According to Koster, many tourists in Bali, especially foreign ones, have been noticed for non—compliance with traffic rules - from the lack of a helmet on trips to the lack of a driver's license.

As the newspaper notes, the governor did not specify how the execution of this ban will be observed.
