China plans to increase the number of airports to 500

The total number of certified civil aviation airports in China will reach 500 by 2025. This forecast was made by the Chinese Aviation Industry Association (AVIC).

During the Chinese Helicopter Exhibition held in Tianjin, AVIC official Cao He said that his country would strive to achieve the goal of having its own general aviation airport in each of China's 2,800 counties.

At the end of 2022, 399 general-purpose airports were operating in mainland China, which is 29 more than in 2021.
