Eco-activists blocked the airports of Hamburg and Dusseldorf

Eco-activists of the "Last Generation" movement blocked the runways at the airports of Hamburg and Dusseldorf this morning.

Air traffic in two German airlines has been suspended. Emergency services are working on the spot.

At Hamburg airport, it is reported that flights were interrupted for security reasons, as outsiders entered the territory.

There are seven people on the runway of Dusseldorf airport, according to the German agency DPA.

The protesters said they were protesting "against the lack of planning on the part of the government and violations of the law in the context of the climate crisis." According to them, they got into the territory of airports by making holes in metal protective nets.
