Egypt switched to daylight saving time for the first time since 2014

Egypt switched to daylight saving time on April 28 for the first time since 2014.

From 00:01 on April 28, the hands of the clock in Egypt were moved forward an hour. The return trip is scheduled for October 26. The decision to return the daylight saving time system was made by the Cabinet of Ministers of Egypt.

In connection with the innovation, retail outlets will also switch to the summer mode of operation: they will be open from 7:00 to 23:00, and on Thursday and Friday, as well as on holidays — until 24:00. The opening hours of restaurants, cafes and bazaars are from 5:00 to 01:00.

In Egypt, the practice of switching to daylight saving time was interrupted in 2011, but in 2014 it was returned: that year the time was changed four times in the country.
