Entrance to the Pantheon in Rome has become paid
The entrance to one of the main attractions of Rome (Italy) — the Pantheon — has become paid. This led to the appearance of large queues at the ancient monument.
From Monday, July 3, the cost of a ticket to the Pantheon is 5 euros. Only residents of Rome, believers taking part in church services, and a number of privileged categories of citizens will be able to visit the attraction for free.
It is planned that 70% of the revenue from ticket sales will be sent to the Italian Ministry of Culture, 30% to the Diocese of Rome.
It is clarified that due to the introduction of a paid entrance, three queues have formed at the Pantheon: in one there are tourists who are ready to pay for a ticket in cash, in the other — those who pay with bank cards, in the third — visitors booking an entrance using a QR code. Another queue consists of those who have already bought a ticket and want to get inside.
