French baguette is included in the UNESCO list
The French baguette was included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List.
A new line appeared in the list: "The skill and culture of making a baguette."
This type of bread is considered one of the symbols of France. According to the Confederation of Bakers and Confectioners, about 12 million baguettes are sold daily in this country. In addition, a competition for the best baguette is organized in France, and the baker who wins it becomes a supplier of baguettes to the Elysee Palace for a year.
