Ice cream and pizza may be banned from being sold in Milan at night
Milan City Hall in Italy plans to ban the sale of takeaway food, including pizza, ice cream and drinks, after midnight.
Local authorities expect that the innovation will combat noise on the streets of the city at night, as it prevents local residents from sleeping.
"The goal is to find a balance between communication and entertainment, as well as peace and tranquility of the residents," said Deputy Mayor Marco Granelli.
If the bill is passed, it will be prohibited to sell food and drinks for outdoor tables from 00:30 on weekdays and from 01:30 on weekends and holidays during the high tourist season from May to November.
