In France, snowfall caused disruptions in transport
Snowfall hit France yesterday, November 21, which led to transport problems in several regions of the country.
First, a snowstorm came to Brittany and Normandy, then the storm reached the Ile-de-France metropolitan region. It is expected that up to 5 cm of precipitation will fall in the Paris region on average, and up to 10 cm in places.
Due to bad weather, an increased "orange" weather hazard level has been introduced in 58 departments. A speed limit of up to 20 km/h has been temporarily introduced on motorways, and the number of accidents has increased. The railway service has been suspended.
According to meteorologists, the snowstorm will pass through the entire territory of France from west to east. The wind gusts reach 148 km/h. There is a risk of avalanches in the Alps.
