In Guangzhou, China, a lockdown was introduced due to COVID-19

In the Chinese city of Guangzhou, authorities have imposed a lockdown in the largest Baiyun district due to an outbreak of COVID-19.

Public transport has been suspended in the area, residents are required to provide a coronavirus test in order to leave the house. Educational institutions have switched to distance learning.

Earlier, Beijing revealed the first fatal case from the effects of COVID-19 infection in six months.
