More than 200 flights have been canceled or postponed at airports in Japan due to Typhoon Meari.

The typhoon hit the Japanese coast near the Izu Peninsula, it is already raging over Tokyo.

Flights were canceled and delayed at airports in Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka, Sapporo, Okinawa and other major cities.

The authorities have issued a recommendation for citizens to evacuate to a safe place. So, in Shizuoka Prefecture, it concerns more than 83,000 people, in Kanagawa Prefecture adjacent to Tokyo — more than 50,000 people.

It is expected that in the near future the typhoon will move to the northeast at a speed of 20-30 km / h. And on August 15 it may reach the northern part of the Kuril Ridge.
