In Mexico, an Airbus A320 with passengers on board caught fire engine
In Mexico, the engine of the plane of the Mexican airline VivaAerobus, operating a flight from Guadalajara to Los Angeles (USA), caught fire.
The incident occurred during takeoff, the right engine of the Airbus A320-200 caught fire on takeoff. At an altitude of almost 4,000 meters, a loud hum was heard from the right engine, and flames and sparks flew out of it. The crew immediately stopped climbing, turned off the engine and took a reverse course.
The airliner spent 43 minutes in the air and made several circles over the capital of the state of Jalisco before landing at Guadalajara Airport.
The landing was successful, no one was injured, but the passengers say that "VivaAerobus handled this situation disgustingly. There was no communication between the crew and the passengers, and we thought we were about to die!".
At the time of publication of the material, VivaAerobus Airline and Guadalajara International Airport did not make an official statement about the incident.
