In Paris, tourists are no longer allowed to visit the Eiffel Tower

Tourists are no longer allowed to visit the Eiffel Tower in Paris (France).

According to French media, the reason for the restrictions is a strike by the trade unions of the company operating the tower. They accuse the city authorities of allocating too few funds for the maintenance of a popular landmark, express dissatisfaction with the instability of the economic financing model and demand an increase in their salaries.

The duration of the protest is not specified. In addition, employees of the company servicing the tower are threatening to go on strike during the Olympic Games, from July 26 to August 11.
