In Rome, archaeologists have found the famous theater of Nero
Italian archaeologists reported an exceptional find: the ruins of the theater of Emperor Nero were discovered in Rome.
The discovery is called exceptional because the theater of Nero could not be found for many years, although it was described in many sources.
The remains of the ancient theater were found during the survey of the site on which they were going to build a hotel. It is located almost next to the Vatican.
After the discovery of the ruins, archaeologists began large-scale excavations under the garden of the Palazzo della Rovere. The construction of the hotel had to be postponed.
The ruins found belong to the I century. From 54 to 68, the Roman emperor was Nero Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus, who was fond of theater.
During the excavations, fragments of bone rosaries, bowls, pottery and other kitchen utensils, coins, bone combs, as well as many musical instruments were found. The theater itself was a luxurious building with marble columns and walls decorated with frescoes with gold.
