In Saudi Arabia, a unique megacity is being built
Saudi Arabia has begun construction of a new unique "smart metropolis" in the form of a wall that will stretch for 170 km from the desert to the seashore.
This ambitious project, which is being implemented in the Saudi province of Tabuk, is called The Line. The futuristic city-wall will be 170 km long, about 200 m wide and 500 m high. About 9 million people will be able to live in the megalopolis. The cost of the project is about $ 1 trillion.
In the city, all the necessary facilities for human life (hospitals, shops, service salons) will be located within a five-minute walk from the place of residence.
There will be no roads and cars in the city, the only transport is a high—speed train that can travel through the entire metropolis from one end to the other in 20 minutes.
