Indonesia launches first high-speed train

Indonesia's first high-speed train, which will connect Jakarta and Bandung, will launch on October 1.

The train will be able to reach a speed of 350 km / h and will be named WHOOSH, which symbolizes the sound of fast movement. The name WHOOSH is also an abbreviation. Waktu Hemat, Operasi Optimal, Sistem Handal translates from Indonesian as "Time saving, Optimal operation, reliable system".

The 142 km-long high-speed train line will connect the capital of Indonesia, Jakarta, with one of the country's largest cities, Bandung.
