Insurance will be required to enter Georgia from June 1, 2024

Starting from June 1, all foreign citizens will necessarily need an insurance policy to enter Georgia.

The law on compulsory insurance was adopted in Georgia at the end of 2023, but it comes into force on June 1, 2024.

The insurance must be valid for the entire time the tourist is in Georgia, the insurance coverage must be $ 5,000/euro for emergency outpatient services and $30,000/euro for hospital services.

The presence of an insurance policy for those entering the country is checked by employees of the migration service or customs control upon entry into the country. For the absence of a policy, you will have to pay a fine of GEL 300, and entry may also be refused at the border.
