Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport was connected to the city by a metro line
Yesterday, October 2, a metro station opened at Sabiha Gökçen Airport on the Asian side of Istanbul.
The airport is connected to the Istanbul metro by a new 7.4 km long M10 branch, it consists of five stations and connects to the M4 branch at the Tavşantepe terminal station.
The opening ceremony of the line was attended by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Transport Minister Adil Karaismayiloglu.
Now Istanbul residents and tourists can get from the airport to the central areas of the city on the Asian side in just 50 minutes.
Thus, the total length of the Istanbul metro lines has reached 270 km, and soon it will exceed 360 km. In addition, the authorities plan to open a metro line leading to the New Istanbul Airport.
