Lufthansa to create new regional airline City Airlines
Lufthansa Group plans to create a new regional airline City Airlines for short flights in Germany and Europe.
City Airlines is expected to make its first flight in the summer of 2024. The relevant regulatory approval was received in June of this year.
The new air carrier will be based at Munich and Frankfurt airports, from which Lufthansa also makes international flights.
City Airlines is currently recruiting pilots and flight attendants.
The Lufthansa Group includes Swiss, Brussels Airlines, Austrian Airlines and German low-cost airline Eurowings.
