More than 120,000 people evacuated in China due to typhoon

Typhoon Doxuri hit mainland China last weekend. In this regard, 124,000 residents of Fujian Province in the southeast of China were evacuated.

In general, the disaster affected 724,000 people. The typhoon brought with it heavy rains, floods, landslides. Roads to a number of settlements were blocked, public transport traffic was suspended. Ports, ferry crossings and tourist attractions were closed.

Doxuri became the strongest typhoon in Fujian Province in the history of meteorological observations. Despite the fact that the typhoon has weakened, heavy rains are still falling in many provinces of China. So, the most powerful rains are expected in 12 provinces of China — from Jiangxi in the southeast to Hebei in the north.
