More than 30,000 foreigners have issued electronic visas to the Russian Federation in a month
More than 30,000 foreigners have issued electronic visas for trips to Russia in a month. At the same time, only 24 people received refusals — 0.08% of the total number of applicants.
This was reported in the Consular Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry. The department clarified that refusals arise due to the fact that applicants often make mistakes in personal data, including their full name and date of birth. Such applications are returned for revision with the opportunity to correct mistakes and submit again within two days without re-paying the visa fee.
Also, the Consular Department assured that they are analyzing the most frequently asked questions and will soon publish additional explanations on the portal on electronic visa processing.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs considers logistical difficulties and the inability to use foreign bank cards to be the main constraining factors for increasing the inbound tourist flow to Russia.
