Oktoberfest Beer Festival has started in Munich

The main beer festival in Europe — Oktoberfest — started in Munich (Germany) on September 16. It will last more than two weeks — until October 3.

The festival was opened by the head of Munich, Dieter Reiter, according to the tradition of the solemn. The first mug of beer was handed to the Prime Minister of Bavaria, Markus Zeder.

This year, on average, a mug of beer at the festival costs 15 euros, which is almost 1 euro more expensive than a year earlier.

The holiday was supposed to be the 190th in a row, but in 2020 and 2021 the festival was not held due to the pandemic.
