Qatar in November will close borders for tourists without a fan ID

Since November, foreigners will be able to enter Qatar only with a World Cup fan ID.

The decision does not apply to foreigners with a residence permit of Qatar and residents with a work visa.

A fan's passport in Qatar is called a Hayya Card, it can be obtained by buying a ticket to the World Cup matches. In addition, fans need to rent accommodation in advance.

The passport entitles guests to stay in the country until January 23, 2023.

Qatar will host the World Cup from November 21 to December 18. It is expected that the first championship in the Arab world will gather more than 1.7 million fans.
