Rules of conduct for tourists published in Bali
The authorities of Bali Island in Indonesia have issued a circular with rules of conduct for foreign tourists.
The document prescribes foreign tourists to wear modest clothes, especially when visiting sacred sites, and to behave respectfully in tourist spots, restaurants, on the streets, in shopping and public areas.
Contact licensed exchange offices to exchange cash, and use only local currency for payments.
When driving, follow the instructions of road signs, use a helmet when riding motorcycles, do not exceed the established passenger capacity of vehicles, and do not drive them under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Use the services of licensed guides who are well acquainted with local customs and traditions.
Do not litter or pollute water sources, and do not use disposable plastic.
Do not conduct commercial activities or work without official documents.
Violators are promised to be fined or tried according to the laws of Indonesia, and Balinese are encouraged to report inappropriate behavior of tourists to the authorities.
