Saudi low-cost airline Flynas plans to become the largest in the Middle East

Saudi air carrier Flynas is opening units in two more countries as part of its plan to become the largest low—cost carrier in the Middle East and one of the largest in the world.

The headquarters of Flynas is located in Riyadh. It is not yet specified in which other countries the units will be opened. The low-cost airline plans to increase purchases of airliners to 250 units, its fleet will consist of wide-body aircraft, including Boeing 787 and Airbus A350.

Saudi Arabia is actively investing in the aviation sector to become one of the world's largest tourist destinations by 2030. The plan provides for the construction of a new airport in Riyadh and the creation of a new airline.

Flynas started operating under the Nas Air brand in 2007. The company is partly owned by Kingdom Holding, an investment company controlled by Saudi Prince al-Waleed bin Talal.
