Smog and the smell of burning spread throughout Moscow
For the second day in a row, smoke is observed in Moscow due to fires in the Ryazan region. Residents of the capital complain about the smell of burning. The smoke spread to many areas of Moscow.
In Mosecomonitoring, an increase in air pollution by 30% was recorded, but it is expected that by the middle of the day the air will become cleaner. The smell of burning will probably be felt for a couple more days. On some sections of roads in Moscow and the region, there is a deterioration in visibility.
Moscow Vnukovo Airport is operating normally, there are no cancellations and delays of flights.
The capital's Rospotrebnadzor has strengthened control over the state of atmospheric air. Citizens of the capital and the Moscow region are advised to limit children's outdoor activities and sports in open areas. Also, people are advised to use medical masks outside, regularly do wet cleaning of premises and drink more fluids.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that 240 firefighters and rescuers, as well as 78 pieces of equipment, were sent from the capital to the Ryazan Region to help localize fires.
