Songkran New Year is celebrated in Thailand
In Thailand, Songkran, one of the most important holidays in the Kingdom, will be celebrated from April 13 to 15.
Songkran is the New Year according to the traditional Thai solar calendar, it is celebrated on April 13, 14 and 15. On these days, it is customary to honor the ancestors and older family members, as well as pour water on the Buddha statues and each other as a sign of purification from all the bad things that happened last year.
In 2023, Songkran was included in the UNESCO Intangible Heritage List, and it is very popular with tourists from all over the world.
