Sri Lanka is changing the system of issuing electronic visas

Sri Lanka has suspended the operation of the portal for issuing electronic visas under the management of VFS Global.

The Srilankaevisa platform has been closed since 17:00 on August 2, local time, according to the decision of the Supreme Court of the country.

The court also decided to return the decision that existed before April 18, 2024, according to which the local company Mobitel was the operator of the visa platform.

There is no information yet on whether the electronic visa portal will resume operation.
