The British aquarium is ready to euthanize animals due to rising electricity prices

The owner of the Sealife Aquarium in Southend-on-Sea in the east of England, Philip Miller, said that he may have to euthanize the animals due to the inability to keep them due to record high electricity prices.

According to him, the aquarium's accounts have tripled — from 240,000 to 750,000 pounds. And keeping animals requires maintaining constant temperatures.

Miller clarified that he would either have to put the inhabitants to sleep, or look for other houses for them. "But all the other zoos will also be in the same boat with me," he said.
