The Loire River in France has dried up on record
The Loire River, the longest in France, has dried up on record.
The Loire, located in the west of the country, has become very shallow due to the fact that France experienced the hottest July in the history of meteorological observations. The amount of precipitation fell to 15% of the monthly norm. It is expected that in the next few days the water level in the Loire will reach its historical minimum.
Due to the shallowing of the river, navigation along it has almost stopped, including the movement of excursion vessels.
Since last week, the anti—crisis commission for water supply management has been working in France - water is delivered to some localities in tankers.
