The strongest super typhoon in 70 years is expected in China and Hong Kong

Guangdong Province in southeastern China and Hong Kong are preparing for the approach of super typhoon Saola, which may become the strongest in 70 years.

In this regard, air traffic has been suspended at the airports of Zhuhai and Shenzhen in Guangdong Province, hundreds of flights have been canceled. Cathay Pacific has suspended all flights to/from Hong Kong on September 1st and 2nd.

In addition, train traffic and trading on the stock exchange were suspended, enterprises, markets, and schools were closed in Shenzhen. The authorities urge residents to stay at home and not go out on the streets unless absolutely necessary.

According to the Chinese meteorological center, Saola may hit the coast of Guangdong province this evening or tomorrow morning. Heavy rains, wind, floods are expected.

The typhoon will also affect Macau.
