There was a massive failure in the border control system at British airports
There has been a massive failure in the electronic border control system at UK airports.
The problems in the system began on the evening of May 26 at Manchester, Heathrow, and Gatwick airports and continued on May 27.
According to the BBC, people stood in queues for up to three hours because border control officers had to check their passports manually.
The British Interior Ministry said it was working to solve the problem, liaising with airport operators and airlines "to minimize inconvenience to travelers."
