Thousands of tourists have been evacuated in northeastern Greece due to forest fires

Wildfires in the north-east of Greece led to the death of two people and the evacuation of several thousand residents and tourists.

Thus, the island of Euboea and the region of Boeotia suffer from fire. The situation is complicated by strong gusts of wind and high air temperature — about +40 ° C.

The authorities are forced to evacuate about 20,000 people, mainly tourists.

Greece is not the only European country suffering from wildfires this season. On the Spanish island of Tenerife, the fight against fire continues, so far the fires have not been stopped. The Spanish authorities plan to declare Tenerife a "disaster zone".
