Three high-speed railway lines will be built in Russia
The Russian railway operator in addition to the construction of the high—speed highway (HSR) Moscow - St. Petersburg, intends to build two more HSR — between Moscow and Kazan and between Moscow and Rostov-on-Don.
The HSR is an electrified double-track railway on which trains travel at speeds from 200 to 400 km/h. So far there are no such roads in Russia.
The Moscow—Saint Petersburg high-speed line will be the first to be built. The travel time between the two capitals will be reduced to 2 hours and 15 minutes. The timing of the start of construction and the volume of investments are not yet called.
Russian Railways clarified that the appearance of the Moscow-Kazan and Moscow-Rostov-on-Don lines is "in the short term."
