Tourists in Vietnam leave behind a lot of garbage
The volume of plastic waste left by tourists in Vietnam will triple by 2030, which will cause an environmental catastrophe in the country. This was stated by the Vietnam Tourism Development Research Institute.
According to the institute, before the pandemic, 18 million foreign tourists annually threw out 55,000 tons of plastic garbage. Without taking emergency measures, the amount of plastic from tourist activity will be three times more by 2030.
As a solution to this problem, restaurants, hotels and attractions can introduce a ban on plastic products as an experiment.
Vietnam plans to receive 8 million foreign tourists this year.
